Sherman began his interest in tactical training at an early age. As a young man he worked in public safety, while completing coursework in emergency medical skills and earning degrees in Law Enforcement, Cell Biology and Philosophy at Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA. Sherman’s chief interest has always been in the medical arts, and his prior coursework and jobs were all stepping stones to his current vocation: completing a Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the Meharry Medical College in Nashville Tennessee. He gained his proficiency in firearms utilization through his work in public service and in the private security industry. In addition to in-service and vocational training Sherman has trained with James Yeager, Jay Gibson, Aaron Little, and Allen Webb of Tactical Response Inc., Paul Gomez of Tac Pro Shooting Center, Greg German, John Hutcherson of The Range Inc., and Greg Sullivan of Defensive Edge. He is affectionately known as "The Hebrew Hammer".
